Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that aims to determine how the integration of scouting educa-tion in schools in
fostering an attitude of independence, discipline and intellectual development as well as skills and character values through extracurricular programs. This study uses a literature review method. The purpose of this study was to reveal the pattern of student competence that is cultivated through scouting education as a character strengthening for children. Skills are ferti-lized through the principle of "learning by doing" in teamwork, while character is fertilized by instilling the values of tri satya and dasa darma through habituation and coaching ". The applica-tion of the scouting method is a means to strengthen the character of elementary school students, not just one or two characters but more than that, such as religious, disciplined, responsible, honest, curious, creative, independent, democratic, tolerant, communicative, caring for the environ-ment, patriotic. , appreciate achievement, and work. Scouting methods must be applied and de-veloped by the teacher in the learning process in order to strengthen the character of students.
